- What makes our Brandy Pudding different from Christmas pudding?
This is a South African dessert (Cape Brandy Pudding) which is enjoyed at any time of the year. It is a baked pudding, full of dates, pecan nuts and cherries, soaked in a buttery brandy sauce. Traditional Christmas pudding is steamed and contains dried fruit, suet, breadcrumbs and spices.
- How long do they last?
They are ready to eat, but stored on the shelf, they mature with time. Please do not freeze or refrigerate.
- How many people does our large pudding serve?
Our large pudding actually weighs 500g which is equivalent to five individual puddings. However, 100g is a generous portion so you can work on serving 6+ from the large pudding. And, of course, the pudding is served with cream, custard, ice-cream or whatever your preference is, making the pudding go further.
- What do you serve with it?
Whatever you fancy…cream, clotted cream, custard, brandy custard, ice-cream, plain yoghurt…
- Is the Brandy Pudding vegan?
No, it contains eggs and butter. But it is suitable for vegetarians.
