  • What makes our Brandy Pudding different from Christmas pudding?

This is a South African dessert (Cape Brandy Pudding) which is enjoyed at any time of the year. It is a baked pudding, full of dates, pecan nuts and cherries, soaked in a buttery brandy sauce. Traditional Christmas pudding is steamed and contains dried fruit, suet, breadcrumbs and spices.

  • How long do they last?

They are ready to eat, but stored on the shelf, they mature with time. Please do not freeze or refrigerate.

  • How many people does our large pudding serve?

Our large pudding actually weighs 500g which is equivalent to five individual puddings. However, 100g is a generous portion so you can work on serving 6+ from the large pudding. And, of course, the pudding is served with cream, custard, ice-cream or whatever your preference is, making the pudding go further.

  • What do you serve with it?

Whatever you fancy…cream, clotted cream, custard, brandy custard, ice-cream, plain yoghurt…

  • Is the Brandy Pudding vegan?

No, it contains eggs and butter. But it is suitable for vegetarians.
